Items You Need:
- Block of wood
- Raffia
- Paper
- Paint/ Paintbrush
- Mod Podge
Directions:
- Paint the piece of wood
- Sand the edges after it dries
- I didn't have a fancy cutting machine so I chose a font I liked from Microsoft Word, wrote JOY, printed it off and cut it out. I traced it on my nice paper and cut it out again.
- Mod Podge the letters on by layering the glue on the front of the block, place the letters, and layer the Mod Podge over it all.
- Once it all dries, tie raffia around and make a bow on top.
Items you need:
- Christmas paper
- A cut 2x4 in lengths: 7", 6",5", 4", 3"
- A wooden star
- Mod Podge
- Green, brown, and yellow paint
- Ribbon, wire, your choice of embellishments
Directions:
- Paint the 3" block brown
- Paint the remaining blocks green
- Paint the star yellow
- Cut your choice of paper to the size of the long, skinny side of each block.
- Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge on long skinny side of block and place paper over layer. Apply the Mod Podge over paper.
- After the Mod Podge dries, sand around the edges of the block and the star. Don't be afraid to sand the edges of the paper.
- If you want the brown distressed look, use a foam brush and dip in a small amount of brown paint. Lightly brush the sanded edges.
- Stack the blocks and embellish what fits your style.
